I was born in Chicago where I later moved to the small town of Iola, WI with my mom. Growing up hockey became my favorite sport but due to zoning restrictions I was going to have to move and leave my friends behind to play in high school. I opted to stay resulting in my love for football to take over. Having a successful high school career it was my goal to receive a scholarship and play collegiate football. Unfortunately coming from a small town with 52 kids in my graduating class resulted in me being a 0-Star recruit but thankfully I was offered one full ride scholarship from Murray State university that I took and ran with. After a mediocre first two seasons my coach sat me down and said I was under performing and that if I worked hard enough I could make it to the NFL. This was the first time anyone in my life told me I could be a professional football player so I took the words to heart and busted my ass resulting in me getting drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 5th rd of the 2010 NFL Draft. Under the suggestion of my position coach I went to an MMA gym to work on my hand speed for pash rushing. Since the first day of training at Bulldog Boxing I knew that MMA would be something I’d come back to. During the off-seasons I trained Jui-Jitsu and Kickboxing to increase my flexibility and improve my cardio. After 5 years in the NFL I decided to walk away to pursue my new found love and passion for MMA. The day after I retired I started to train MMA full time and now find myself 4-0 as a pro.
